The Boulder Passport: Shine

Our seventh stop on our 40-venue tasting adventure was Shine Restaurant and Gathering Place for a couple pints and a late dinner on a weeknight.
Shine is unique because it’s owned by triplet sisters and is the only woman-owned brewery in the state. It’s a really popular spot in Boulder and they brew good beer, so we collected a Boulder Passport stamp, of course.
As Chef and I were both starving at 9:30 pm, we were thrilled the kitchen was still open and ordered a salad and tempeh burger to share. This Passport is getting us out and about, for sure.

Our third and final stop (after Riffs and Jax) on our Boulder Passport excursion before heading home for Chef to make dinner was West Flanders Brewing for two-for-one pints.
I don’t know how ethical this is since there’s just two of us in our household and we have his and hers passports… but we’ll be coming back for more pints to get the other passport stamped, for sure.

I like FATE. I hadn’t been in a while because, well, it’s oh-so-difficult to go everywhere all the time. But, The Boulder Passport gives me an excuse to check out places for the first or umpteenth time. So, after Sean and I enjoyed a pizza and beer at BRU, we rode our his and her Linus bicycles to FATE for a pint.
FATE has a very impressive number of beers on tap, but we showed up at last call, enjoyed our two-for-one, and got our “passports” stamped. Date night success.

Sean and I rode our bikes out to BRU Handbuilt Ales for our second Boulder Passport stamp. BRU is undoubtedly one of Boulder’s best restaurants, so it only made sense to get some food there as well.
BRU’s Boulder Passport deal is two-for-one pints of their house-brewed beers, so we both enjoyed a pint, a pickle platter, and a delicious Charred Leek and Arugula Pizza.
Totally. Hit. The. Spot.
